A girlfriend of mine had asked me what can she do to keep her relationship alive since she and her “spouse” had been together for a long time now. She tried everything just to keep the fire going - from coloring her hair to losing weight and even looking to burn belly fat fast because the “spouse” doesn’t like to see her put on any weight.   Yes - you heard me right, but what can I say right?  she is in love and invested so much time into her relationship with this guy.  But we all know that love, relationship and good health goes together - it’s good to stay slim and healthy - but is it really a good thing to go all the way out - to keep a guy interested or vice-versa?

Anyhow, this was the advice that I had read on Lilian Too’s and I told her to think about it.   The Southwest is the universal sector which governs Marital Happiness. A neighbor who knows I practiced feng shui asked me about getting a feng shui ring for his wife to be - as an engagement ring.  He said he heard that certain rings are bad for engagement - bad feng shui - and if there was any truth in it.  But firstly, I have to let you know that some people wear different type of jewelry for different reasons in feng shui.  Some wear a jade pendant to ward any ill luck - and to keep safe.  Parents loved to give their younger kids - a piece of jade to wear - to keep them from getting into any harms way.

But as an engagement ring like the above  tanzanite jewelry - is said to be the best ones -with one big diamond and with little diamonds all around it.  One big diamond with little diamonds on the side is also good feng shui, much better than a ring with 3 diamonds. Three is not the best number for stones in the engagement ring design, just like a prominent number three is to be avoided in a couple’e bedroom decor. 

So you want to plan for an auspicious wedding and a happy marriage for the year 2011 right? and you are wondering besides choosing the right date and the right hour to have the wedding - what else is needed to make your wedding and auspicious one and have a blissful marriage.

Worry about what color chair slipcover you should use ?  or even what kind of material?  what about the decorating of the home sofa when you are having the tea ceremony?  do one need the all red slipcover?  or plain bright colors ones?  Yes! there are lots to plan and arranging the wedding bedroom furniture to ensure for a happy and enduring marriage are just as important - so yes - the details and you don’t know where to begin.  While some may think that all these are superstitious nonsense - they cannot be any more wrong - because even the most minor detail for a sofa slipcover is important and for some I know of - they custom make their slipcovers to get the “just right” color and material.  I would too, if I want my wedding to be a happy one.

Happy marriage and a happy family is what i want for this year, so everyone tells me.  But before you can have a happy marriage and a happy family - money is also a crucial point?  no?  I would think so - I found that when our business got better and we were able to pay our bills on time and have money put away for rainy days - we were able to work on a happy marriage and a happy family.  So what does that tell you?  you  have to work hard for money ! and then work on the marriage and family?

Some people may not agree with me - but money being not the most important thing - it is important enough to get things going and making sure that bills are paid and you will have less stress no?   Of course, having a good marriage and a happy family is important and I really think that it will fall into its place - when you have less stress - but that doesn’t mean that you work 24hrs a day - and not do anything with the family - what I’m saying is work hard - pay your bills - and buy what you can afford and everything else will fall into place.  And yes!  feng shui can enhance more love - but sitting around and mopping and using feng shui and hoping that things will change - just is not going to do it. Common sense is required in  this area I would think - right?

The girlfriend told me the other day that some people are just so lucky - even with shopping - they find the best buys - even with or without the Black Friday sale.  They are lucky in whatever they do - from shopping to business and money - and most importantly their relationship.  Their spouse worships them - their children are obedient and does well in studies - so how does want get all their luck?  she asked me.  My reply is - some people are just born this way - while others like myself have to work for it.   So if i want to get the best sale - i lookout for sales date like the Black Fridays or Boxing Day sales - plus every now and then there are good buys everywhere - to be at the right place at the right time - well, it’s pretty much being alert and being in control with your schedule and being alert.

I read in an article that even the best feng shui master cannot calculate when you will die exactly - because according to him - these are things that the heaven disallowed.  it is quite scary isn’t it - not knowing when one is going to die.  But what if someone can and want to read your fortune and tell you that you are destined to die - on which year and time or date - or all 3?  is your destiny really held in your own hand?  or is it really heaven’s will?  i really don’t know truth be told - but i’ve heard that you can’t escape it if it comes - for me - I’m not afraid to die - I’m afraid of those I love - those I left behind after I die.   What are your thoughts?

A friend just called and told me his wife is pregnant - you see they have been trying for many years to have a baby.  I was very happy for them and also told him all about keeping his wife happy and he also asked about feng shui for his wife’s room and stretch mark cure all in the same breath.  You see the wife wants to continue to wear her bikini and go to Mexico and Cancun for their holidays with the baby when the baby arrives - and I can fully understand her concern - after all - looking good for a woman is as important as having hair on a man’s head eh.  Below is what i learned :

When pregnant, it is a woman’s home that must provide the safe haven in which to escape from the stresses of daily life and provide an avenue in which to improve overall health, boosting prenatal health and encouraging health pregnancy outcomes.  Pregnant women’s physical and emotional health may be improved with the application of simple Feng Shui techniques, e.g. the use of lucky objects, the use of color, placing the bed, to improve the overall energy and balance, thereby reducing common stress and complications associated with pregnancy and antenatal care.  So if my friend’s wife is afraid of the stretch mark - she can start looking for anti-stretch mark cream - but to make sure to check with her doctor when she can start using it and allergies and stuff.  Keeping the wife worry free is very important at this time - so if she is worried - don’t brush her worries away - make sure you attend to it.

A girlfriend once told me that she didn’t allow her spouse to buy a karaoke for the home - for fear that it may disrupt the harmony at home.  But truth be told - all musical instrument is alright - as long as you feel alright with it.  Some people feels good having a piano at home - while others feels good with a violin.  So why not the Karaoke?  is it because it’s too noisy ?  but to the spouse - it relieves his stress level and helps him enjoy his life - so that’s a good thing no?  So my solution?  if the spouse loves singing and wants the karaoke machine at home - why not dedicate a somewhat special room - with  sound proof for him and if he wants to entertain his friends - why not?   as long as he doesn’t sing his karaoke past midnight and get drunk or disturb the neighbor - don’t deprive him of his singing.

So the girlfriend wrote to me and told me that her spouse bought an LCD TV 40″ and a flat panel mount for the bedroom.  He claims that he needed it for his sports shows - he is addicted to them and cannot sleep without them.  So instead of getting screamed at for falling asleep in the basement where the recreation room currently is - he came up with this brilliant excuse to have the LCD TV in the bedroom.

The fuming girlfriend wanted it to be out of the room - and both are currently arguing what is best to do with it.   Yes ! feng shui do not encourage tvs and electronics in the bedroom - but it also doesn’t encourage bickering in one’s bedroom too.   So the best solution?  cover up the LCD TV when both of them wants a good night’s rest.  Problem solved - spouse can enjoy the tv and the girlfriend will get a good night’s rest without any bickering.  So good luck to all who have spouse’s who wants tvs and mounts in their bedroom.
