I remembered how my mother and my grandmother used to fret about having a full rice urn every month and it was so important that the rice urn is never left half full. To ensure that there is plenty to eat all year round, we place a red packet filled with real money deep inside our rice urn.

And you will never guess what my mum did to make sure that we always have plentiful to eat. When we moved out of our grandfather’s house when I was 9 yrs old.. my mother stole the mug that was used to scoop up the rice from the rice urn to our new house. i guess that’s her way of ensuring we always have food on the table.. because my grandfather was a good provider.
